Two people died in a murder-suicide on the University of California, Los Angeles campus, according to Los Angeles Police Department chief Charlie Beck.
Campus media relations officer Rebecca Kendall told The Associated Press that police are on scene Wednesday morning at Boelter Hall, a science and engineering building.

UCLA's notification system, called Bruin Alert, tweeted just before 10 a.m. about an incident.
Many people on campus took to Twitter to share text messages received about police activity. One person claims he was inside UCLA's Boelter Hall.
The school on the west side of Los Angeles is a flagship of the University of California system, with about 43,000 students. It's currently the week before final exams.
Students were in class or on campus studying when the shooting started to unfold.
The LA Times reports UCLA students were seen walking out in a line with their hands above their head as armed cops scour campus.
On other areas of the large campus, students were seen walking around with ease.
Los Angeles Police Department's Twitter account tweeted for people to avoid the area of the engineering building.
Professors were reportedly asked to cancel classes and notify students of cancellations in the next few hours.
