SEATTLE — Three Seattle police officers shot a suspect multiple times in Ballard on Thursday evening as they responded to a domestic violence call.
Seattle police said they were called to an area on NW 62nd Street near the Ballard Community Center around 5:40 p.m. for reports of someone who was following a woman.
It’s unclear what the relationship between the suspect and woman is, but the call went out as a domestic violence disturbance.
When officers responded and approached the suspect, police say a “confrontation” occurred.
About six to 10 shots were fired by three Seattle police officers, SPD told KIRO 7.
SPD did not specify if the suspect also fired shots.
The suspect was hit several times, according to SPD.
The condition of the suspect is unknown at this time, but they were sent to Harborview Medical Center for their injuries.
A Seattle police officer was also sent to Harborview for a bullet graze to the leg.
