SEATTLE — Seattle police blocked multiple lanes of Aurora Avenue North on Sunday morning after a driver reportedly fell asleep in the middle of the road with a gun in his lap.

According to the Seattle Police Department, officers arrived at a “blocking traffic call” along Aurora Avenue North near the North 125th Street intersection at around 10 a.m. Sunday.

Arriving officers reportedly found a man asleep in the driver’s seat of the reported vehicle, with a pistol in his lap.

Officers requested more units, with at least five cop cars pulling up to surround the vehicle and block the area.

After around 30 minutes, KIRO 7 watched as the man got out of the car, backing up slowly towards police with his hands behind his head.

Police confirmed he was arrested on weapons-related charges and booked into the King County Jail.
