Police arrest suspected drug dealer after man dies at Bass Canyon

GEORGE, Wash. — The Grant County Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team (INET) arrested a 28-year-old Seattle man at the Gorge Sunday night.

According to a post by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook, Quincy R. Travers is suspected of selling drugs to a 27-year-old Olympia man who died of suspected drug poisoning at this year’s Bass Canyon.

After hearing about the man’s death and talking with his friends, INET detectives launched an investigation.

Throughout their investigation, detectives discovered that the 27-year-old man took drugs he purchased from a man at the festival.

Soon after taking the drugs, he became sick, and, later, died at the Gorge’s medical facility, according to the post.

Once determining that the man was Travers, INET launched an undercover operation to arrest him.

Detectives bought suspected illegal drugs off of Travers, and investigators arrested him on suspicion of “one count of delivery of a controlled substance and three counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute,” according to the post.

The post also notes that Travers had MDMA, cocaine, and ketamine on him, and that INET is viewing this case as a suspected controlled substance homicide.
