TUKWILA, Wash. — The Tukwila Police Department arrested seven people who were accused of using alcohol and drugs in a park in Tukwila.
One of the men arrested had an active escape warrant from the Department of Corrections (DOC).
The suspect also had prior convictions for second-degree murder and illegal gun possession.
On Friday, Tukwila police detectives saw seven men using drugs and alcohol in a park near children playing on a playground.
Detectives worked quickly to remove the children from the park before arresting the suspects.
Police say the suspect with the DOC warrant believed Tukwila was a “catch-and-release” city and became upset when he learned it was not.
In all, police found 18 bags containing a mixture of methamphetamine and fentanyl.
