Pinpoint Alert: Strong cold front moving through tonight

The Pacific Northwest continues to remain cloudy, breezy, and wet for the next several days.

This evening’s forecast looks stormy as another cold front moves through the area. This next front has triggered a high wind warning along the coast, where wind gusts could exceed 60 mph this evening. The strong winds will also be noted Tonight along the Strait of Juan de Fuca and throughout the islands and Coastal communities in Snohomish, Skagit, and Whatcom counties.

The Seattle area tonight will also experience strong winds with gusts around 40 to 50 mph. The peak wind will be between 7 PM and midnight. Tonight will also feature some strong downpours as the front punches through. Many places could get over half an inch of rain. Power outages are possible this evening.

Tomorrow will be a transition day with variable clouds and maybe a couple of showers in the morning. It will still be breezy on Sunday, but not as windy as tonight.

Weather for the Seahawks game will be cloudy and breezy but not too cold. A high in the mid-50s is on the way tomorrow. There may be a few lingering showers in the area at game time, but the coverage should be less than 20% of the area.

You may have noticed these recent fronts haven’t brought very cold weather to the area. That will be the case for the next several days. Highs will be in the mid-50s and will even rise into the 60s by Wednesday and Thursday.

The Gulf of Alaska is shaping up to be a “breeding ground” for big storms this coming week. The worst weather from the developing storms will likely be north of us; however, associated cold fronts will continue to rake through the area next week. We’ll see another cold Monday night into Tuesday and again Thursday into Friday.

Each system that arrives next week will increase the wind and bring moderate to heavy rain.

Bottom line is that our stormy November pattern looks to be setting up for at least another week.
