PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — Two people have donated a ballistic-resistant vest to K9 Coda with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
The vest will add a layer of protection to K9 Coda while he works with his handler, Deputy Levi Redding, according to the sheriff’s office.
“Our K9s put themselves in harm’s way right alongside our deputies, and we’re incredibly grateful for the people in our community who help make sure they’re protected,” the sheriff’s office wrote.
“Your generosity is more than a donation, it’s an investment in the safety of one of our four-legged members of the PCSO family. We are truly grateful for your support of our K9 team and the work they do every day. We are incredibly grateful since all our K9 dogs have now been outfitted with ballistic-resistant vests,” the sheriff’s office wrote of the two donors-- Doug Koch and Catherine Larson.
