LYNNWOOD, Wash. — Local shelters are helping make room for animals displaced by wildfires in Eastern Washington.
PAWS in Lynnwood drove to Spokane County Regional Animal Protection (SCRAPS) on Thursday to pick up some adoptable pets.
“We’re grateful to work alongside our shelter partners to help more animals when they’re needed most,” PAWS shared online. “We’re excited to help these sweet pets find loving homes!”
PAWS welcomed four cats and two dogs at their shelter and dropped off some others at Seattle Humane.
“We don’t want to directly take any animals who are displaced from fires. We want any animals over there to be reunited with their owners,” Rachel with PAWS shared. “Our goal here is to bring in animals who have already been in the system that are looking for a home to give them the space they need to directly help with the impacted animals.”
The shelters are now working to get the animals settled and on the pathway to adoption.
Seattle Humane also drove out to Spokane on Thursday to drop off critical supplies and brought back 44 cats and 5 dogs.
