MONROE, Wash. — Pasado's Safe Haven, a non-profit that envisions "a world where every animal is recognized as an individual who has the right to live free from abuse, abandonment, neglect and exploitation," hosted it's annual 'Thanksgiving FOR the Turkeys' event Saturday.
Pasado’s Safe Haven hosts the event in which “the rescued turkeys currently at the sanctuary are the guests of honor, and get special treats from guests and some extra love and attention,” according to their website.
Attendees enjoyed a four-course Thanksgiving-themed vegan meal prepared by nationally recognized holistic chef Jason Kieffer.

Pasado’s Safe Haven says that attendees visited with the turkeys at the sanctuary who are “very outgoing and love attention.”
Each year approximately 46 million turkeys are killed for Thanksgiving. Pasado’s Safe Haven hosts the event to “showcase a compassionate alternative celebration that embraces the spirit of the season.”
