The northbound I-405 ramp to eastbound I-90 in Bellevue was fully blocked after a semi-truck carrying garbage overturned on the roadway.
The semi overturned at approximately 4:20 a.m., and cleanup is expected to take an extended period, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) announced.
Washington State Patrol (WSP) Trooper Rick Johnson confirmed that no one was injured in the collision.
In an update, WSDOT announced that the southbound I-405 off-ramp to eastbound I-90 had reopened, though the northbound I-405 ramp to eastbound I-90 remained closed.
Tow trucks were on the scene around 6:30 a.m., and crews were removing trash from the ramp.
There is currently no estimated time for the ramp to reopen.
Officials advised travelers to expect delays throughout the area and seek alternate routes.
