WASHINGTON — You might be eligible for a payout under a recent settlement involving generic drug prices.
Attorney General Nick Brown is urging people and businesses to submit a claim for compensation after Washington, along with 47 other states, settled a lawsuit with several manufacturers for a total of $96.5 million.
It was over claims that they were illegally conspiring to raise prices.
“Washingtonians deserve fair pricing for the medications they need to stay healthy. This bipartisan agreement secures compensation for Washington consumers who were unlawfully overcharged,” Brown said. “Our antitrust team is committed to holding Big Pharma accountable and making sure corporations follow the law.”
Hundreds of drugs are listed in the settlement, ranging from cancer treatments to birth control.
If you bought them between May 2009 and December 2019, you may be eligible.

Claims must be submitted by March 8, 2027.
In addition to Washington, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Northern Mariana Islands, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, U.S. Virgin Islands, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming joined in Tuesday’s announcement.
