OLYMPIA, Wash. — Two men were arrested on Thursday, and drugs, guns and cash were seized as part of a joint operation targeting a drug trafficking organization in Thurston County.
The arrests were part of Operation Crazy Ivan, which targeted local drug traffickers who were distributing large quantities of Mexican-sourced heroin, cocaine, and fentanyl pills, officials with the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office said.
A 24-year-old Lacey man and a 31-year-old Tumwater man were arrested on charges including distribution of heroin, unlawful possession of firearms and possession of stolen firearms.
Thursday’s operation involved the Thurston County Narcotics Taskforce, Homeland Security Investigations, and the FBI.
When a search warrant was executed, investigators found about a pound of fentanyl pills, more than half a pound of heroin, 1 1/2 pounds of cocaine, multiple guns and $54,000 in cash.
Authorities said so far, Operation Crazy Ivan has resulted in multiple arrests as well as the seizure of more than 5 pounds of heroin, 1 1/2 pounds of fentanyl pills, 1 1/2 pounds of cocaine, two assault-style rifles, a shotgun, five handguns and more than $100,000 in cash.
“This joint investigation has disrupted and dismantled a major source of narcotics distribution in the Thurston County area,” a news release from the sheriff’s office said.
