One person is dead, and another was arrested after police responded to reports of domestic violence in Longview and found a person dead from gunshot wounds.
According to a Facebook post by the Longview Police Department, on August 21, 2026, at about 9:58 p.m., LPD officers were dispatched to a domestic violence investigation at 5600 Mount Solo Rd.
Shortly after they arrived, police discovered a person had been shot and had died from multiple gunshot wounds.
According to the department, “several” children were inside the house at the time of the incident, and they were “returned to their families.” The department says none of the children were injured.
The suspect, a man from Longview, who was taken into custody several hours after the incident and booked into a local jail.
