TACOMA, Wash. — A person was found dead at a home that caught fire on Saturday evening in Tacoma, fire officials said.
After 5:30 p.m. Friday, firefighters were called to a house fire in the 100 block of Rosemount Way.
When crews arrived, they reported seeing heavy flames and smoke coming from the front of the house.
Firefighters said they had to take a defensive attack.
While fighting the flames, two additional engines were called to the scene as the fire had spread to the second floor.
After firefighters got the fire under control, they managed to enter and found a body inside.
Officials at the scene did not release the victim’s identity or their cause of death as the medical examiner’s office will do so.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
