Four people stabbed to death on Key Peninsula, sheriff says

KEY PENINSULA, Wash. — The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) says four people were killed in a stabbing on Tuesday morning near Purdy on the Key Peninsula.

At around 8:47 a.m., authorities received a call that a 32-year-old man was violating a protection order outside a home.

At around 9:30 a.m., while deputies were en route, they received another call that the man had begun stabbing people outside the home, according to PCSO.

One deputy arrived and reported shots were fired at 9:33 a.m.

Authorities say three people were found dead at the scene and the suspect was shot and killed.

A fourth victim later died on the way to the hospital, PCSO said.

The Pierce County Force Investigation Team has taken over the investigation.
