A magnitude 5.4 earthquake off the coast of Alaska prompted a precautionary tsunami information alert for the Pacific Northwest before officials confirmed there was no threat to Washington state.
The shake occurred at 10:33 a.m. Pacific Time on Thursday, about 45 miles east of Homer, Alaska, and roughly 110 miles south of Anchorage, at a depth of 16 miles.
Shortly afterward, the National Tsunami Warning Center indicated there was no tsunami danger from the quake.
