New national voter guide connects citizens with election officials

The National Association of Secretaries of State says it has compiled a national voter guide with vetted information on elections in each state.

The association says #TrustedInfo, a nonpartisan voter education initiative, has a simple goal: to connect voters with information from state and local election officials.

“This effort is especially important today, as voters encounter election information from many different sources and may not know which sources are reliable. Even information shared with the best of intentions may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date - or it may only apply in another state,” NASS said in a statement.

Those looking for information on voter registration are directed to NASS’s CanIVote.org, a site designed to guide voters through the registration process in their state.

The association asked voters to help prevent the spread of misinformation by checking anything they see online about elections against verified information from election officials before sharing it.
