SEATTLE — Mothers Against Drunk Driving hosted a fundraiser at the University of Washington Sunday morning, inviting local residents, families, and advocates to Red Square for Move With MADD Seattle.
The gathering brought together crash survivors, families, law enforcement, and community members to honor those impacted by impaired driving while raising funds for MADD Pacific Northwest’s programs.
Participants can choose between a walk and a chip-timed 5K race with live results, pace tracking, and finish-line videos. Red Square will also feature sponsor exhibits, activities, resource booths, and updates on road-safety technologies.
“Every step taken at Move With MADD represents hope for victims, support for survivors, and a commitment to creating safer roads for everyone,” said Candace Reid, Program Director for MADD Pacific Northwest in a press release announcing the event. “Together, we can save lives by raising awareness, supporting victims, and preventing impaired driving before another family experiences an unimaginable tragedy.”
Money raised from the event supports MADD’s victim outreach services, youth education programs, law enforcement initiatives, and advocacy for road-safety laws.
