SEATTLE, Wash. — This weekend, Seattle welcomed another group of animals from California, as shelters in Los Angeles make room for pets that have been separated from their owners because of wildfires.
Seattle Humane tells KIRO 7 they welcomed 32 dogs and 12 cats, most of whom will be getting checked in today to find their forever homes.
The animals landed at Boeing Field Sunday afternoon thanks to a partnership between Seattle Humane, Paws for Life K9 Rescue, and Wings of Rescue.
The Seattle Humane Society says that all of the animals brought to Washington were already in California shelters before the fires, and were not already somebody’s pet that had been accidentally moved.
The animals will be available for adoption in the coming days.
