Monday is the last day to register to vote online or by mail

With Election Day rapidly approaching amid heated debates, it's a good time to check that you're registered to vote.

If you are not registered to vote, Monday is the last day you can register online or by mail.

The Office of Secretary of State says that it hit a new record on Sunday with 23,167 people registering on Sunday. It says the boost comes from Facebook and Google prompting people to register.

“We are delighted with the new record number of registered voters being set every single day,” said Secretary of State Kim Wyman. “Sunday’s surge was nothing short of amazing, and it looks certain that we’ll have a robust turnout. That level of voter engagement is so good for self-government. We need to hear all voices.”

Nearly four million people are registered to vote in Washington state as of early October.
