GRAHAM, Wash. — A five-year-old girl has been found dead after her grandmother reported her missing in Graham.
According to the Pierce County deputies, at around 6 p.m. last night, the grandmother reported the child missing at 92nd Ave E.
The child was last seen on the outside deck of the home and had been missing for about 10 minutes.
When deputies arrived, they said they found an aggressive dog near the child’s body.
Deputies shot and killed the dog to get to the child, who was later pronounced dead.
The girl and grandmother were visiting the home, and the child had been around the dog before.
Deputies say they are working to find out what happened. While Pierce County Detective Josh Mills said the girl had wounds consistent with a large animal attack, they are waiting until the medical examiner’s final report.
