Man stabbed on Metro bus in Seattle

SEATTLE — Officers were responding Thursday evening to a stabbing that happened on a Metro bus in Seattle.

A heavy police presence where the bus was stopped near South Lander Street and 4th Avenue South had traffic impacted around 3:45 p.m.

KIRO 7 has a crew at the scene and had Chopper 7 above where police were investigating for KIRO 7 News at 5 p.m.

One person was injured. The victim, a man around 53 years old, was taken to Harborview in stable condition, officials with the Seattle Fire Department said.

The man, stabbed in his abdomen, was conscious and alert at the hospital as of around 4:20 p.m.

Officials with the King County Sheriff's Department said they did not know yet whether the suspect and victim knew each other.

The suspect, still at large, is described by police as an adult black man wearing dark clothing, with Adidas written on the sleeve of a jacket.
