Man rescued after falling behind 25-foot retaining wall in Mercer Island

MERCER ISLAND, Wash. — Eastside Fire & Rescue says it performed a high-angle rescue to help a man who had fallen behind a 25-foot retaining wall.

The rescue took place early Tuesday morning after a person walking their dog heard someone yelling for help.

The Bellevue Fire Department joined Eastside Fire & Rescue crews to rescue the man, who had sustained serious injuries.

He was later transported to Harborview Medical Center.
