SEATTLE — A "magnet" fisherman at Seattle's Green Lake caught something much more dangerous than coins and bottlecaps Tuesday afternoon.

The man told KIRO 7 he was out with his son looking for metal objects at the bottom of the lake when he reeled in an old grenade.

He got his son away from the area and immediately called 911.

“It’s weird we’ve pulled out all kinds of things. But never expected to pull a live grenade,” the man told KIRO 7.

Police responded with its bomb squad to investigate.

Police are not sure whether the grenade was live or dead.

The bomb squad put it in a safe case and hauled it away to investigate.
