Man dies in Seattle’s Westlake Park after getting into a fight, screaming for help

SEATTLE — Detectives say a 67-year-old man died in Seattle’s Westlake Park Thursday after getting into a fight.

Around 6:45 a.m., someone called 911 after seeing two men fighting. The caller said one of them was screaming for help.

As officers were driving to the call, the witness noticed that one man was no longer moving.

When police arrived, the man no longer had a pulse. They began lifesaving efforts until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived and declared the man dead.

Officers quickly located the other man, a 39-year-old, and took him into custody.

A nearby camera captured footage of the incident and will be crucial in helping detectives with their investigation.
