HOOVER, Alabama — Ahead of donating her hair to cancer patients, one little girl was moved to tears.
She cried with gratitude at having the opportunity to share her hair with those who need it.
“Why are you crying?” Annalee’s mom asks in a video shared with KIRO 7.
"Because I'm so happy I get to give my hair to someone who doesn't have any hair and has cancer," 7-year-old Annalee responds.
While her daughter cries, Annalee’s mom asks her whether she’s really happy to be cutting her hair off.
“Yes,” says Annalee.
“I love you so much,” responds Annalee’s mom, Linda Mckinnie Blake.
Linda says tomorrow they'll be sending little Annalee's hair off to Wigs for Kids.
“On Saturday, Annalee got so emotional about donating her hair to cancer patients that she was crying,” Linda initially wrote to KIRO 7, sharing the video. “Not because she was sad but because she was (so) overwhelmed with excitement that it brought her to tears. In that very moment my daughter had more compassion for somebody she doesn’t even know than most adults have in their entire life. … If only the world could see through her eyes. There would be so much more kindness in this world.”
