CHELAN COUNTY, Wash. — Hundreds of crews continue to try and contain the Twenty-Five Mile Fire burning near Lake Chelan.
As of Thursday morning, the fire was estimated at about 9,800 acres with 0% containment.
The fire was first reported on Aug. 15 at 3:45 p.m. and was initially burning on the south shore of Lake Chelan near the Twenty-Five Mile Creek.
Officials with the USDA Forest Service said the fire has expanded south and west of the area.
These are the current evacuations for the area:
Level 3 (Go Now): All properties north of Cove Marina on South Lakeshore Road, the area of Granite Falls Road and First Creek Road west of Lakeshore. Lakeshore Road is closed from Cove Marina north past the Twenty-Five Mile drainage.
Level 2(Get Set): Areas from South from Cove Marina to Morning Sun Drive.
Level 1 (Get Ready): Lakeshore Road south of the Granite Falls area.
Officials said 772 structures are threatened and one was destroyed.
Firefighters on the ground are working to contain the fire while helicopters and scooper planes are working in the air.
Officials said a Type 3 incident management team has been called to help fight the fire.
A forest area closure was issued in the Twenty-Five Mile Creek Area.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
