ISSAQUAH, Wash. — At least one person was killed after a car crashed into a blockade before going up in flames in Issaquah on Sunday evening.
According to Eastside Fire and Rescue, the vehicle collided with road blockades used for construction along SE Newport Way.
Issaquah Police confirmed that multiple 911 callers reported hearing a collision or an explosion, and some reported a car on fire.
Crews arrived to find the car engulfed in flames, with one passenger inside. The passenger was dead when crews arrived.
Issaquah PD says officers searched the area for any additional victims that may have been ejected from the vehicle, but none were found.
Police are investigating the incident.
