SNOHOMISH, Wash. — This holiday season you can help a local child when you give to the KIRO7 Cares Toy Drive, benefitting Toys for Tots.
This Saturday, toys for the drive will be collected at the Snohomish Holiday Market at Valley View Middle School.
“We’re always looking for partnership opportunities, we don’t want to just be a place to shop and get your fresh produce during the summer,” said Sarah Dylan Jensen, director of the Snohomish Farmers Market.
“I think everybody at Ziply really loves Christmas, especially me, but we are all about connecting our community. Being a part of the community, you know, we all live local, we are local, so we want to do things that give back,” said Jennifer Harvey, Community development Manager for Ziply Fiber.
Ziply Fiber is also joining in on the fun.
Harvey says she will be at the market on Saturday, which runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., helping collect as many toys as possible.
“When you’re little the magic is Christmas, it’s presents, it’s Santa. You wake up in the morning, and to me, Christmas is magic, so you want to just keep that going,” said Harvey.
Market vendor Olivia Kovach, of XO by Olivia, said she loves the idea of giving back because it lines up with her nonprofit. She said the money raised from selling her crafts at the market will go toward buying 75 winter jackets for local kids.
“Basically, the mission is to just tell people to choose kindness and to help the local community around us,” said Kovach.
