KIRKLAND, Wash. — Kirkland police are looking for any information that could lead to an arrest 20 years after a man was found dead inside his apartment.
Detectives said 23-year-old John Schuoler was found dead inside his Kirkland home on Sept. 15, 2006.
His roommate called 911 to report that he found him dead. A medical examiner determined Schuoler died of blunt force trauma.
His death was ruled a homicide, and two decades later, remains unsolved.
“John was a young man with a large circle of friends, a job in the community, and his whole life ahead of him. His family has spent 20 years without answers about what happened to him,” Kirkland police wrote.
Kirkland police believe someone may have heard something or may have some information that could help solve the case.
A memory, a conversation, or even a small detail from 2006 could be the missing piece police need to solve the case, they wrote on Facebook.
“It’s likely there was a conversation and people who have information that maybe didn’t think was important or didn’t know to come forward at the time... that, again, could be the thing that sheds light on the evidence,” said Adam Haas, the lead investigator on the case.
Investigators believe the perpetrator was someone who was known to Schuoler.
