KING COUNTY, Wash. — King County officials announced new investments for the next stage of COVID-19 vaccinations.
The new plan will emphasize no-cost, equitable access to vaccines, particularly for people in areas of the county that have been hardest hit by the virus and for those who are most vulnerable and do not have access to vaccine through the healthcare system.

King County executive Dow Constantine said the county will seek reimbursement from the state and federal government.
Officials said the county will spend $7 million to fund teams and sites to administer the vaccine.
“These local efforts will complement the state’s vaccination plan,” Constantine said.
The first focus will be South King County, where rates are the highest.
