SEATTLE, Wash. — A juvenile was arrested after gunfire near Seattle’s Kerry Park early Saturday left two men seriously injured, according to the Seattle Police Department in a Statement to KIRO 7.
Officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired at the park around 3:30 a.m. Police said they contacted a vehicle and detained everyone inside after an officer saw a rifle in the vehicle.
Investigators recovered approximately 50 rifle and handgun casings from the scene.
While officers were investigating, two men who had been at the scene arrived separately at Harborview Medical Center with gunshot wounds, police said. One had been shot in the leg and the other in the hip. Both were listed in serious but stable condition.
Detectives with the Gun Violence Reduction Unit responded to interview people and process evidence.
Police arrested a juvenile and booked them into the Judge Patricia H. Clark Children and Family Justice Center on assault charges. Police did not provide the juvenile’s age or say what role they are accused of having in the shooting.
