LYNNWOOD, Wash. — The Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team (SMART) is investigating a shooting involving at least one deputy with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
SMART is a team of investigators and other specialists from various Snohomish County law enforcement agencies and Washington State Patrol who respond to and investigate police use-of-force incidents.
It’s unclear what led up to the shooting.
SMART told KIRO 7 that it happened on East Shore Drive in Martha Lake, an area east of Lynnwood.
It’s not known at this time whether the shooting was deadly.
A SMART representative has not indicated whether any law enforcement officers were injured or how many were involved.
The shooting is still under active investigation.
Mukilteo Police, a part of SMART, will be the leading agency for information to avoid a conflict of interest.
