‘Young men’ arrested after theft ends in chase and highway stop by deputies

According to the King County Sheriff’s Office, the incident that blocked off lanes of westbound 1-90 in Fall City started with a ‘significant theft’ from a store in the City of North Bend just after 5 pm Sunday.

According to the office, shortly after the theft, deputies received a description of the suspects.

According to the office, deputies spotted the suspects driving westbound on I-90 and initiated a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop and attempted to flee through traffic.

A deputy then used a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle on westbound I-90 between Preston and High Point Way exits.

The suspects, ‘young men’ according to the office, were taken to a local hospital for a ‘routine examination’ and then were booked into the King County Jail.

The sheriff’s office did not specify how many suspects there were.

The reason for the response is unknown. KIRO has reached out to Washington State Patrol and the King County Sheriff’s Office.
