SEATTLE — The Interstate 5 express lanes in Seattle will undergo a series of overnight closures starting Friday, Oct. 9, through Monday, Oct. 12, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).
WSDOT says it will use the overnight closures to perform work on the underside of the Ship Canal Bridge.
The maintenance is part of the ongoing Revive I-5: Ship Canal Bridge Preservation project.
During the Revive I-5 project, the express lanes have been operating exclusively in the northbound direction.
The express lanes will close during three overnight windows:
• 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, to 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10
• 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, to 8 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 11
• 11 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, to 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12
WSDOT says drivers traveling through the Seattle area may experience delays.
