WHIDBEY ISLAND, Wash. — A horse that fell in an abandoned well on Whidbey Island was rescued on Wednesday, according to North Whidbey Fire and Rescue.

The white horse appeared to fall tail-first, and was stuck in a near-standing position.

North Whidbey Fire and Rescue, Navy Region Northwest Fire and Central Whidbey Island Fire and Rescue responded to the call around 9:15 a.m. to the well located near State Route 20 and Monkey Hill Road.
