KIRKLAND, Wash. — A family in Kirkland has been displaced after a fire destroyed their home Sunday morning.
Firefighters were called about 11:34 a.m. for a house fire near 90th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 143rd Street in the Finn Hill neighborhood.
When crews arrived, they worked to put out the flames as the homeowner had already gotten out safely, officials said. Firefighters said they were “severely hampered” due to the terrain and because part of the home had collapsed.
Officials said neighboring homes threatened by the fire sustained minor heat damage.
No firefighters were injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
