Halloween Weekend Forecast: Rain showers again today, weekend looks drier

The forecast today still calls for showers with a gradual decrease in shower activity by Saturday.

Friday Forecast

Skies will be mostly cloudy, and the high temperatures will only be around 50 degrees. Peeks of sunshine will be mixed in with the clouds, but not enough sun to warm up the afternoon too much. The average high will be a few degrees below normal, which is 56 degrees. Grab the rain gear this morning in case the showers move in when you plan to be outside.

Saturday (Halloween!) Forecast

The rainy weather should end by Saturday. An area of low pressure that has been lingering off the coast for several days is expected to slide south of Washington and move inland. High pressure is forecast to build over the PNW this weekend and give us drier weather and slightly warmer days as more sunshine comes back.

Two big events are on the way this weekend. Halloween weather looks to be chilly, but rain-free on Saturday night. Weather on Halloween is often a toss-up (rain or no rain), and it looks like this year we will luck out with quiet conditions.

Sunday Forecast (Daylight saving time ends)

The other big event will be on Sunday around 2 a.m., when the clocks will be set back one hour. Granted, that has little to do with the weather; however, everyone will notice the sun setting at 4:51 p.m. that evening.

High temperatures this weekend will be in the mid-50s, and overnight lows will be in the 30s on Saturday morning. A Freeze Watch is posted for the Chehalis River Valley on Saturday morning will dip below freezing. Overnight lows on Sunday and through next week will stay in the 30s, with 40s near the water. Daytime highs for the next several days will average in the mid 50s.
