Grays Harbor deputies warn beachgoers after military rounds discovered washing up on beaches

Deputies issued a warning to beachgoers in Grays Harbor County on Monday as some highly explosive military rounds started washing up on North Beach.

The rounds are about 6 to 8 inches long and look like a large rifle round. Many of them are encased in a black rock or sludge.

Police believe the rounds date back to the 1940s and could potentially explode on impact.

Anyone who encounters a round is asked to give deputies a call.
