OLYMPIA, Wash. — Gov. Jay Inslee announced Wednesday that Washington will be easing restrictions on religious gatherings as the state moves forward with its reopening plan.
In phase 1, religious organizations can now hold outdoor services with up to 100 people. Proper social distancing should be practiced and attendees should wear face coverings.
In phase 2, indoor religious gatherings can be held at 25% capacity or with less than 50 people, whichever is less.

When at religious gatherings, everyone should still follow physical distancing and wear masks when appropriate. Organizations also need to provide education to employees about coronavirus symptoms and have appropriate PPE available.
Physical gatherings spaces also must be cleaned and sanitized frequently.
Services covered under the new guidelines include all worship services, religious study classes, religious ceremonies, religious holiday celebrations, weddings and funerals.
Groups holding services are strongly encouraged to keep a log of attendees for at least two weeks in case an outbreak happens.
“If an outbreak occurs, this information may be critical to help save lives,” Inslee said.
