Washington’s largest online fundraising campaign, GiveBIG, returns on May 3-4, to raise funds for over 1,600 nonprofit organizations across Washington state.
Not only providing important programs and services to people and communities across the state, GiveBIG also promotes the importance of local philanthropy and giving back to our communities.
The 48-hour campaign looks to break its 2021 totals, when it raised $17.4 million for nonprofits in Washington, thanks to donors across the state.
GiveBIG has set an aggressive goal of $20 million, for which it has plans to expand the campaign by adding more participating organizations on the east side of the state and partnering with media in Spokane to help raise the word in eastern Washington.
Partnering with GiveBIG to help build excitement around the event this year is former Seattle Seahawks Cliff Avril.
“Seattle is my home. I live here, I play(ed) here. I want to see it thrive. GiveBIG is a great way for all of us to work together to help our community recover. It does not matter how much you can give,” Avril said. “We can all do something by donating our time or money to support nonprofits. I was asked to be a GiveBIG Champion and knew it was a no-brainer because I wanted to help bring attention to a campaign that delivers important services and resources to our communities. Now, the need to give is bigger than ever.”
GiveBIG provides a safe online portal for donors to support nonprofits of their choice, while exploring new causes around their area.
Individuals can also donate their time, by pledging volunteer hours and creating FUNdraising pages to share with their friends, family, co-workers and more.
