Former Seattle Seahawk Derrick Coleman was charged on Friday with vehicular assault and felony hit-and-run for a collision in Bellevue on October 14, 2015, that injured the driver of another vehicle.
"The case was referred to prosecutors in late January. The case has been under review and ongoing investigation. If convicted of both charges, Coleman could face a sentence range of 12 to 14 months in jail," the King County Prosecutor’s Office announced on Friday.
Coleman’s truck allegedly rear ended a vehicle driven by a 57-year-old man.
The victim suffered a fractured collar bone when his car was flipped upside down in the collision.
Coleman's blood wasn't drawn for several hours after the collision and tests didn't show any of the drugs that he admitted to consuming in his system.
