Forecast: Low chance for showers tomorrow

WASHINGTON — A weak front is expected to cross the area late tomorrow and may scare up a couple of showers over the mountains and lowlands. Quiet weather comes back on Friday and another system this weekend will bring a few showers Saturday evening into Sunday.

The forecast tonight calls for partly cloudy skies becoming mostly cloudy during the day tomorrow. The Orionid Meteor Shower should be visible after midnight; however, increasing clouds and a bright moon will limit viewing conditions. If you are up past midnight, take a look but don’t be surprised if the show is a bit hard to see.

Temperatures tonight will be in the low 40s around Puget Sound and in the 30s away from the water. High temperatures tomorrow will not be as mild as they were today. Most places should stay in the 50s on Thursday.

A weak front will cross the area tomorrow, but as mentioned above, it likely won’t produce much rain at all. On Friday, high pressure builds in and it looks like another partly cloudy and nice day. It will cool off tomorrow and through the weekend. Our 60° weather we enjoyed today will be replaced with mid-50s for several more days.

Computer models are showing another system moving across northern Washington this weekend and it looks like we could see a few showers late Saturday into early Sunday.

A computer model consensus on how much rain we could get this weekend is still not available, but it does look like we could see at least some scattered showers moving through.

It certainly doesn’t look like enough rain is forecast to cancel any outdoor plans. Just be ready for some passing showers.

As I’ve mentioned in this weather discussion every day this week, we are on track for a record-setting dry October. It’s very interesting to note that Seattle has observed .08” of rain this month compared to Palm Springs, California, where 1.17” of rain has fallen this October.
