Fire at West Seattle home deemed arson

SEATTLE — A fire that broke out at a West Seattle home was intentionally set, according to the Seattle Fire Department.

Firefighters were called to 46th Avenue Southwest and Southwest Charlestown Street at 2 a.m. Tuesday.

The fire started in the basement and spread into the attic with flames visible through the roof.

Crews removed debris and checked to see if the fire extended to other parts of the home.

The fire has since been put out.

No one was hurt.

Damages were estimated at $100,000.

The Seattle Police Department’s Arson/Bomb Squad is investigating.
