Desmond Trufant told KIRO 7 that his home in Tacoma was set on fire Tuesday morning.
The Tacoma Fire Department said it responded to a fire in the 7500 block of North 10th St just after 6 a.m. Tuesday morning and found flames around the house’s exterior.
Trufant later told KIRO 7 this was his home.
In a social media post Wednesday, the fire department said it determined the fire was set intentionally.
The department says it will continue investigating the cause, and Tacoma police have opened a criminal investigation.
