WHIDBEY ISLAND, Wash. — A Whidbey Island house was destroyed in a fire early Sunday morning.
South Whidbey Fire and Emergency officials said crews were called at 1:55 a.m. to a report of a large amount of smoke and flames near Bayview Road.
When crews arrived, they found an empty house burning.
No injuries were reported.
According to crews, the house had been one of the last remaining houses built when the area was first developed many years ago.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
