KENT, Wash. — One person had to be rescued and six others escaped on their own after flames broke out at a Kent home.
The fire at the home in the 26100 block of 114th Avenue Southeast was called out at 9:23 a.m. Monday.
The fire was mostly in a garage that had been converted into living spaces but also spread to the attic.
Crews from Puget Sound Fire responded. Firefighters cut a hole in the roof to vent the smoke and flames.
One person was rescued from the basement area but did not need treatment.
The fire was mostly knocked down shortly before 10 a.m.
The cause has not yet been determined.
