FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — Just before 3 p.m. on Friday, the South King Fire Department responded to reports of smoke and flames at an apartment building in the 2900 block of South 342nd Place in Federal Way.
When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames from the balcony of the top story of a two-story apartment building.
Firefighters quickly responded and there was minor damage to other units.
A search of the building yielded no people or pets and no one was evacuated.
Officials said that four units in the building are being shut down. Eight adults and four kids are being displaced by the fire. Red Cross is assisting.
