Aside from some high clouds, clear skies are allowing some frost, with temperatures falling into the upper 30s.
Patchy fog has developed around some parts of western Washington too, where lower temperatures are in the low to mid 40s.
Gradually, fog will drift away and burn off while the October sun shines overhead.
Do you love this weather? It comes back Wednesday! High temperatures will be a few degrees warmer, low to mid 60s.
A weak trough of low pressure will make a run at producing some raindrops Thursday. Most of the impact will be in British Columbia, but a few light showers should fall along the coast and Olympic Peninsula by mid-day Thursday, and then a chance of light showers develops inland.
The most likely spots to get a touch of light rain Thursday late afternoon and evening will be Snohomish County northward and the Cascades. High temperatures will have cooled into the mid-50s.
Another ridge of high pressure will strengthen and move overhead for drier weather and more sunshine Friday through Monday. At least, that’s according to one useful weather model. There is another model that predicts a chance of a little rain and a lot more clouds on Saturday and Sunday.
Given another day or two, the differences should balance out, and the forecast will be more accurate. Because this is a winter with strong El Niño conditions, it might be too easy to forecast warm and sunny weather!
