Edmonds police looking for man in attempted luring

Police in Edmonds will be on heightened school patrols after an attempted luring.

They are on the look-out for a man who is believed to have tried to lure a young boy.

Authorities say the elementary student said he was approached on Wednesday by a man in a pickup truck.

In a press release, it states the boy ran and told his mother, who then told the school and the school called 911.

This happened on his way home from College Place Elementary in the 20100 block of 76th Avenue West, around 3:15 p.m.

It is also said this may be the third time the same man has tried to contact the boy.

The first time was said to have happened in Feb. 2016 and on Jan. 4, 2017.

Police said this was the first time they were told about the luring.

The man is said to be a white male in his mid-30s with spiked brown hair, unshaven.

The truck he drove is said to be a two-toned extended cab Ford Ranger pickup that has dark green over brown with a dark green canopy.

Edmonds police is asking anyone with information to give them a call.
